A Realtor performs all of the same functions as a real estate agent. Realtors simply hold themselves to a higher standard of ethics than the average real estate agent. If there were ever a problem with a Realtor, a customer could complain to the licensing department of the state of Michigan as well as the Realtor’s Association. The individual consumer is given more protection because there is another board to report any problems to. However, because of the high standards of Realtors, problems are unlikely.
